USTA Long Island and the New York Open are giving adult league players the opportunity to play where the pros play at NYCB Live, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum when professional tennis returns to Long Island in February.

Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles 8.0 combined level (two 4.0, or a 3.5 & 4.5) teams are eligible to compete in the adult league tournament. The matches during the tournament will take place at eight clubs throughout Long Island:

Nassau County:
Carefree Racquet Club:
January 5-7
Christopher Morley: January 21
Long Beach Tennis Center (men only): December 15
Point Set Indoor Tennis (women only): January 28
Sportime Syosset: December 23

Suffolk County:
Huntington Indoor
: December 9-10
Sportime Kings Park: December 16
Eastern Athletic Club Blue Point: January 6
World Gym Setauket: January 20

The cost per team is $50.00 paid to the respective club hosting the tournament. The winner from each club will enter into the main draw where matches will  be played at Carefree Racquet Club.

The semifinals will be played at Nassau Coliseum on the morning of Saturday, February 17, before the New York Open semifinals, and the finals will be played that night.

Semifinalists will receive two tickets each to the day session, while team supporters receive a 20% discount on tickets for that session.

“The New York Open is a great event for Long Island.  Having the USTA league player tournament has more Long Island clubs and players involved in the excitement of the New York Open,” said USTA Long Island Adult League Coordinator Kathy Miller. “Imagine getting to play on the same courts at the Nassau Coliseum that the pros are playing on.  It’s a great opportunity for our league players!    Having such a great event come to Long Island is a win-win all around.”
