Hofstra Men and Women Fall to Delaware in CAA Season Openers

Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams for Hofstra University dropped their Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) season openers this weekend, as the Blue Hens of Delaware notched victories in both matches.

The men fell 6-1, as Josh Reynolds won the lone match for the Pride at sixth singles. The women were tripped up 7-0 by the 73rd ranked Delaware.

The Hofstra men returned to the court on Sunday and fell to Brown 5-2. Hofstra received wins from Reynolds at sixth singles, and Vincent Turina at fifth singles. The men will next play this Wednesday on the road at St. John’s.  The women’s next match will come on March 20 on the road at Quinnipiac.

 


 

Adelphi Men Tripped Up On The Road

The men’s tennis team from Adelphi visited Philadelphia on Friday, and fell 5-2 to Jefferson University in a non-conference showdown.

The Panthers got wins from Marko Jovanovic, who won 6-1, 6-2 to earn his fourth consecutive victory at first singles, and Salomon Arce Lema at sixth singles.
