Two members of Novak Djokovic’s Adria Tour player field from last week have tested positive for the coronavirus, as both Croatia’s Borna Coric and Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov announced their positive results on social media.

Dimitrov was the first to reveal his diagnosis, writing in a post on Instagram:

“I want to reach out and let me fans and friends know that I tested positive back in Monaco for COVID-19. I want to make sure anyone who has been in contact with me during these past days gets tested and takes the necessary precautions. I am so sorry for any harm I might have caused. I am back home now and recovering. Thanks for your support and please stay safe and healthy.”

The next day, on Sunday, Coric tweeted:

“Hi everyone, I wanted to inform you all that I tested positive for COVID-19. I want to make sure anyone who has been in contact with me during the last days gets tested. I am really sorry for any harm I might have caused! I’m feeling well and don’t have any symptoms. Please stay safe and healthy! Lots of love to all!”

The first leg of the tour took place in Belgrade, Serbia last week in front of large crowds, for which Djokovic and the organizers were criticized for.

“It’s hard to explain to people that the situation is really, really different maybe in America or the UK than it is in Serbia or surrounding countries,” Djokovic said last week in response. “And obviously from the day one of the organization of the Adria Tour, we’ve followed the rules and measures that have been regulated by the government institution and the public health institution.”

After news broke of Dimitrov’s result, the final match of the leg in Zadar, Croatia, between Djokovic and Russia’s Andrey Rublev, was canceled.
