Anderson, Nishikori and Kyrgios Headline 2020 New York Open Early Commitments

Defending Champion Reilly Opelka and 2019 Finalist Brayden Schnur Will Also Return to Long Island

The New York Open will return to Long Island in February 2020, and has and has announced early player commitment’s for next year’s field: Kei Nishikori, currently Japan’s no. 1 and the ATP’s no. 7 ranked player; Kevin Anderson, the 2018 New York Open champion and current no. 8 ranked player; and Australian star Nick Kyrgios, currently no. 36 in the rankings.

The 2020 New York Open will return for a third-year to NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, from February 9-16, 2020, and will feature some of the best tennis players in the world. In addition to the return of Nishikori and Anderson, and the addition of Kyrgios, the New York Open has also received commitments from defending New York Open Champion Reilly Opelka and 2019 finalist Brayden Schnur.

“The Home of the Black Court continues to attract several of the world’s best players, and we’re thrilled to have Kei, Kevin and Kyrgios to commit to the 2020 field,” said Josh Ripple, Tournament Chairman and GF Sports COO.  “With the early nod from both our 2019 finalists in Reilly and Brayden, we have the set-up for a terrific tennis competition.  We are also excited to continue to elevate the fan experience off the black courts.”

After playing for the first time at the New York Open two years ago, I am excited to inform the New York area fans that I will return for the New York Open next February,” said Kei Nishikori. “It was quite impressive to play on the black courts at the Coliseum in its debut year, and I’m looking forward to being back.  I have good memories from playing there and look forward to coming back in 2020.”
